August Ipsy Glam Bag Overview

Hi all! ❤ I just received my Ipsy glam bag for the month of August and decided to do a review of what I got 🙂 I subscribed to Ipsy back when it first started and stopped because I wasn’t satisfied with what I got. I just recently resubscribed to Ipsy because I saw their Gudetama bag and was hoping to receive that one 😥 Sadly, that did not happen but I was excited to restart my monthly subscription and see what products would be on my way in that magical pink bag.

August Ipsy Bag

For the month of August there were three type of bags with a good vibes only theme. There was the one from above, “Peace Love Lipstick”, “Wild & Free”, and “Good Vibes Only” all in different ombre color. So like every bag, each individual will receive 5 deluxe sized products with at least one being a full-sized item. I live in California so I paid around $10+tax and I believe if you live in the US shipping is free. So in all, you get a pretty good deal with what you pay for because the full-sized item is usually more than $10.

What I received:

  1. Seraphine Botanicals – FULL SIZED Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid Liner $22 retail value (top left)
  2. sundays – FULL SIZED Nail Polish in No. 28 $18 retail value (middle left)
  3. Paula Dorf Cosmetics – Mini Universal Brow Pencil in Taupe $? (middle right)
  4. Promise Organic – Nourishing Coconut Milk Face Lotion w/Hibiscus ~$4 (far right)
  5. theBalm Cosmetics – theBalm Voyage Vol. 2 in Kuwakaribisha ~$3 value (bottom right)

The products inside

With this bag I received two full-sized products that came out to $40 on its own. So I must say I’m extremely happy because I really do like both products. The black eyeliner is supposed to be waterproof but I washed it off pretty easily (maybe because I left it on for like two seconds on my hand hehe). Now the nail polish, ahhh it is such a pretty color. I could easily wear this color everyday and not get tired of it because it just goes with everything.

Moving on to the brow pencil, the taupe color is actually a nice medium brown color that will probably go with anyone who has darker hair. It ran across my hand pretty smoothly and I look forward to seeing it on my brows. The Kuwakaribisha highlighter was a nice addition to my collection since it added a nice yellow shimmer to my skin. And lastly, the coconut milk face lotion nicely soften my hand and would soften my face with ease. However, I am not a huge fan of coconut and this product has a strong scent so if you’re not into the coconuts, this is not a good product for you. What type of scents do you dislike most? 😮

If you are looking to try out products before splurging your money, I would try out Ipsy and see what type of products you get. If you received an Ipsy bag, were you satisfied with everything? I certainly was and I look forward to the next one! 🙂 Hope you all have a great day! ⭐

Colourpop Eye Shadow Review

Hi all! ❤

So I have another beauty review for you all! I know I seem to have more blogs about makeup but I am trying to work on some fashion ones too so please be patient 🙂 A little while ago, Colourpop was having a great sale on their eye shadows so I thought I would snag some up and save me some money! XD This post is not too long but I will reviewing the colors I received and share some looks I created based on what I got.

So like I mentioned before, Colourpop had a sale on their eye shadows. They normally sell for $5/ per color however, they had a great deal and sold three for the price of two. I didn’t go too crazy with the sale, (even though I really wanted too 😦 ) but ordered some of their best selling colors. The colors I ordered were: Get Out, Sequin, White Rabbit, Liar Liar, Birthday Girl, and Girly. I did a swatch on all colors on my arm to show how they would appear.

Swatch of: Sequin, Birthday Girl, Girly, White Rabbit, Get Out, & Liar Liar (left to right)

I am not a huge makeup person so when I do my eye makeup, I tend to make it as natural as I can. However I wanted to venture out of my comfort zone and try out a nice reddish gold look. The first look that I have on are three of the colors that stood out to me the most when ordering. The colors I used were: Get Out, White Rabbit, and Liar Liar. To create the look, I used Get Out which is a nice red wine color all over the lid. I then applied White Rabbit which is like an orangey-red sparkly color (reminded me of a carrot hehe) on the outer corner of my eye. I blended the two together to create a nice red bronze look. Finally, I applied Liar Liar on the inner corner of my eye to highlight and give the look a touch of lightness ⭐

Look #2 is a little bit more neutral compared to #1. Here I used the other three shades: Sequin, Birthday Girl, and Girly. I feel like the names of the colors fit well with each other and the colors blended just as well! This look is my favorite of the two because I can wear with any outfit and smack on any type of lip color. I always like a natural look and these colors worked well to give a natural look an extra WOW! 🙂

Look #2
Here I used Sequin and Birthday Girl on the outer lid and then used Girly to highlight the inner corner

Overall, the colors I bought were all great colors to add to my eye shadow collection. The price was perfect and it was a great opportunity to try out a brand that I have heard good things about. I would definitely try more of their products especially their lip products (heard great things about those especially!!). I hope you all have a great week! 🙂 Thank you for reading!~

Pros: Price, cool names, variety of colors, long-lasting

Cons: None 😮

Rating: 10/10 🙂

Review on Tarte’s Tarteist Treats Eye & Lip Set

Hi all! ❤

So in this post I’ll be talking about Tarte’s Tarteist Treats Eye & Lip set. I’m a sucker for bundles and getting the most out of your dollar. I’m not a big user of eye shadows and didn’t want to invest in a $40-60 eye shadow palette, so I wanted to opt for something smaller and not too expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the high-end palettes like the Naked palette, but I don’t see myself using it all up and would probably have it sit out for the majority of the time 😦 While browsing through the Sephora app, I stumbled across this particular eye shadow set. The kit cost $25 and included a mini lip gloss and mini mascara. The palette by itself would have cost $23 so for $2 more, I got two more items 😀 I ordered through my phone and was patiently waiting for the day of arrival.

My package has arrived! 😀

Yay!~ 🙂 A new kit to play with!

As you can see from above, the kit comes in a cute box which contains all three products mentioned before. I was super happy to come home to this box after a long day at work and was immediately ready to test it out. The first thing I wanted to put on was the lip gloss. Now, the lip gloss is part of their Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint collection and it’s in the color WCW which is a really nice berry color. When applying it, it seemed like it was going to be a dark plum color. However, I spread out the color across the lips and the plum color turned into a nice berry almost like a rasberry color that I absolutely love! ❤ 🙂 I feel like this color would be great to put on if you wanted that pop of color but wanted something more than the ordinary red. My skin is pretty fair so this color went really well with my face and it wasn’t too sticky on my lips.

Now moving onto the eye shadow palette. The palette is a great size to travel around with and have when you want that natural but dazzling look. The colors that were included in this kit were: Drive (nude), Boss (bronze), Stylin (brown), Hype (gold), Crisp (chestnut), and Dominate (shimmering rasberry). I did a swatch of all the colors on my arm to show how the colors would bounce off my skin. My favorite from just looking at the swatches was Hype and Dominate. I love glittery eyelids and feel like these colors would be great additions to my everyday look 😉

Lastly, Tarte’s kit include their mini Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara in black. I’m not a big fan of mascaras (been using Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara for forever) but if I just wanted that extra length for my lashes, this was a great item to try out. When opening the product, it felt like I was trying to suck something out of the tube. It was weird because I never used a mascara like this and when I was trying to discard some of the product back into the tube, I ended up making a little mess 😐 This was the only downfall for me in this kit. The mascara did make my eyelashes very beautiful and thick and lengthen them, but it was a bit too much of product that went on and made little clumps on my eyelashes. Because I rarely use mascara, this won’t bother me too much but for those who regularly do wear it, be aware~

Ater – lighting makes a total difference lol

Overall, I enjoyed this little bundle of goodies. I can’t wait to try out different looks with the eye shadow palette and see the different combinations I can create. This was a great value for your dollar and if you want to look into the product, I have provided a link to the Sephora website ⭐

On a side note, I’m trying my best to post up a blog every week but I’m pretty sure most know how school goes 😎 I think these types of posts are something I’ll try to keep doing but let me know what other topics I should branch out to. I’m thinking of doing some fashion and food posts, and with summer coming up, I’m hoping to get some posts about traveling. Any who, I do hope you all enjoyed this review! Have a great rest of your day and smile big!~~~ 🙂

Pros: Inexpensive, good for travel, colors are vibrant and long-lasting

Cons: Mascara is hard to control the amount you want to apply = messy

Overall: 9/10

Review on Amore Pacific’s Cushion Compact

Hi all! ❤

So I recently went to my local Sephora store and was looking for a new light-weight BB cream because my Lancome BB cream was nearing the end of its life. I have been eyeing the Amore Pacific line for a while now and purchased some of their skin care products awhile back. Their cushion is supposed to have SPF 50 and work well on all skin types. I would get into all the details of this cushion, but you can find it on the Sephora website provided here 🙂

Their retail price is around $60 and although it sounds like a lot of money, it does have a spare included so you are technically spending $30 on each~ I ended up getting the cushion in the color 102 which is good for neutral to ivory skin tones. Like all cushions compacts, they are great to keep in your bag for touch-ups and this one is handy because it has a nice sized mirror.

Although this cushion is light-weight, you should not expect too much coverage. I have mild rosacea and some acne blemishes but I do not feel a need to use foundation because I always feel unnatural when I wear it. This cushion does enough to clear some of my redness and hide small blemishes. This cushion does not cover everything but it does leave a nice dewy texture after you apply on the face. After a long day out, I only had to touch up once around my nose due to my sunglasses rubbing the formula off.

At the end of the day

If you are thinking about purchasing the Amore Pacific Cushion Compact for light coverage, I would definitely recommend it. Being a Korean brand, the down side is that it does not have a great variety of colors and does not have a lot of coverage. The fragrance does not bother me but it is a bit strong once applied which can turn someone away from the product. On the plus side, Korean beauty brands are a big trend and this product leaves your face with a fresh, dewy, and young complexion! 😀 Let me know what you think about this product!~

Pros: Dewy complexion, light-weight, high SPF, nice fragrance

Cons: Expensive, small variety of colors, must be touched-up if out all day

Overall: 7.5/10
